Sunday Funnies: LIO (with commentary)

Lio000

Mosters! Aliens! Robots! Creepy crawling things that go bump in the night! Sounds like the Halloween season is here, right? Well, actually, it's always like that when Lio is around. And I love the strip because of that.
This sampling of comics is from a mega-collection of Lio strips with artist commentary, a format I prefer to just simple reprinted strip collections. I've included the commentary content with the strips that have them.
Enjoy!

For some reason I never saw this strip before. These examples made me smile. It seems like there's a Gahan Wilson influence there, in the type of jokes and in the way he draws monsters, though not in his human characters.
Yer kidding??!?

As long as I've known you, you've always been a scholarly expert on all things comic-related. You've never seen Mark Tatulli's LIO?????

Well, now ya have. And you can read it daily at GoComics.com or thru the RSS feed, or whatever way you prefer.
And Yes, I love the strip because it evokes memories of Addams and Wilson, yet manages to be 90% wordless (always a plus).
I've never seen it. And for the record, I always read your posts to learn about cool comics I've never seen (or sometimes even heard of) before. The secret is, I usually only post comments when I've got some anecdote or factoid related to the topic, and when I don't know something I usually don't cop to my ignorance but stay quiet...thereby creating the illusion that I'm some kind of expert. Works really well, doesn't it? ;-D
User somehowunbroken referenced to your post from Volume 93, Issue 21 saying: [...] Scans/Pictures - posted Sunday Funnies: LIO (with commentary) [...]
One of my favorite strips.
